Chocolatte Espresso Bar

Chocolatte Espresso Bar is the only cafe in Crown Heights — and one of the few in all of Brooklyn — open 24 hours from Sunday through Thursday. The kosher certification (the cafe sits on Eastern Parkway in the heart of the Chabad-Lubavitch Crown Heights community) is a defining feature, and the menu is built around chocolate-infused espresso drinks: mocha lattes, chocolate cortados, affogatos with house chocolate sauce, and a rotating selection of espresso-and-chocolate pairings that don't exist anywhere else in the borough. The space is generous and functional, with reliable WiFi and the kind of late-night working environment that doesn't exist elsewhere in Brooklyn. The coffee itself runs on locally-roasted beans, with espresso pulled cleanly and milk drinks executed at a higher level than the chocolate-bar concept might suggest. For students, night-shift workers, and anyone who needs serious coffee at 3am, Chocolatte is the answer the rest of the borough doesn't have.
